ACTLab will be offering 2 courses this fall 2008, The UnCanny and Extreme Freestyle Hacking.  We are always looking for community participants, so feel free to drop by and hang out.  Our location is CMB 4.110 on UT's campus. 

 Also, this summer was a huge success, Joey started a tech blog for geeks called Austin30.org , which has been hugely successful.  BitDepth, our soon to be first ACTLab TV show is being cranked out, and we also hosted StartUpCamp , a barcamp style conference for tech start ups.

 So stay tuned, there is always more to come.  Keep an eye out for fall 2008 videos, we will soon be loading it up..

 ACTLab New Media Talk Series-

This past spring 2008, the ACTLab decided to have a new media talk series, it was held over 3 weeks with various topics about music, television, movie, online communities and p2p networks.  Check out the videos on the ACTLab blog.

 ACTLab TV Summer 2008- 

That's right, we are going to be having ACTLab TV Summer 2008!  What does that mean, we're not sure, but come on over and find out.  We will be manning the office all summer long, ready to take on all types of challanges.  Contact to us to find out exact times.  We are pretty sure we are going to shoot a web video series, you know, start making content for our station.

Learn Something Awesome!

The next Learn Something Awesome! public workshop event will be held on Friday, March 7^th at Monkey Wrench Books at 7pm. The workshops will include: crocheting plastic bags into useful items, acupuncture and Chinese medicine, yoga with a radical perspective, and designing a basic web site with Adobe Dreamweaver.  This is a laid-back, conversational event designed to connect and educate members of the Austin community. Come out and Learn Something Awesome! 

 *NEW* Zara Steadman will be giving a workshop on how to start your own kickass blog that may eventually make money! Woo!
